Since today is Valentine’s Day today, we’re sharing some of the love and fertility symbols you’ll find in the current exhibit Čičmianske Domy: The Houses of Čičmany Village.
The houses of Čičmany Village are decorated with the same motifs that appear on the area’s embroidered folk dress. Some of these symbols can be found in art and embroidery worldwide, including Europe, China and India. The motifs have been found on European Neolithic pottery shards and carved into the mysterious Venus figures of the same period. Ethnographers have studied the symbols and have assigned meaning to various signs.

Very powerful influence of embroidery in these images. I want to say as a result of these images, this artwork is really fantastic. I prefer hand embroidered dresses for myself. because I like its effective design.
