Walking Tour of Historic New Bohemia

markjannewbotour2016Join Mark Stoffer Hunter, historian at The History Center, and local historian Jan Stoffer on a walking tour of the historic New Bohemia neighborhood. Learn about the evolution of this unique Bohemian commercial district starting in the early 1870s, through the years the area was known as the “South Side” and its recent comeback as “New Bohemia.” Mark and Jan will highlight the special stories associated with the architectural landmarks.

Tour lasts about 75-90 minutes. Wear comfortable shoes. Tour begins at Masaryk Park, First Street and 16th Ave. SE, east end of the 16th Avenue bridge over the Cedar River (“Bridge of Lions”). On-street parking is available.

$5 for members of The History Center or the NCSML, $7 for the public.
