Heritage Garden Outdoor Learning Lab: Organic Gardening 101

scottcupcakeJoin Soilmates founder, Scott Koepke, for a fun, interactive introduction to vegetable gardening for people of all ages! From seed to harvest, Scott can provide a comprehensive overview of what’s required to grow organic food at home and in community gardens: healthy soil, full sun, watering, mapping, companion plants, weeding, mulching, tools, season extensions and organic pest control with biodiversity. A special focus will be given to what native Czech and Slovak gardens emphasize.

This is an informal drop-in program. No RSVP required. Stop by any time between 2:00 and 3:00pm on Saturday, May 21 during Houby Days in Czech Village to see the progress on our new Czech and Slovak Heritage Garden, and to learn from Scott!

This program is in partnership with New Pioneer Co-ops’ Soilmates program.
