Now used for warehouse space and light industrial purposes, the meat packing plant was a major employer of the Czech immigrants in the 1880-1925 era. It was started by T. M. Sinclair in the downtown Cedar Rapids area in 1870 and was moved to the current location in 1871. In 1913 due to financial problems the company was sold and in 1935 assumed the Wilson & Company name. In 1984 it became Farmstead Foods and closed completely in 1990. The building is partially occupied by a storage company and a few small businesses.
