Museum Education Intern (Summer)

 

Museum Education Intern for the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library

The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library is currently seeking an intern to assist our Learning & Civic Engagement department. Intern will learn how to incorporate our teaching collection into interactive experiences with visitors and support educational tours and programs at the NCSML.  Internship will be available in the summer of 2018, start and end dates are flexible.

Stipend: $500

Responsibilities/Goals

  • Use the teaching collection to curate an interactive tactile experience for visitors with visual disabilities
  • Use the teaching collection to design hands on programming and curriculum for students
  • Assist in the development of educational programs for groups of visitors with disabilities
  • Assist Education staff in leading educational programs such as tours and activities

Skills/Qualifications

  • Interest in equitable education
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work with museum staff, volunteers, and visitors
  • Experience working with children is prefered

Hours

  • 10 hours a week. Flexible, Monday – Friday 9 – 5; Saturday and Sunday negotiable
