Calling all writers and artists! High school students are invited to learn how to create a graphic novel from primary sources. The instructor, Rachel Marie -Crane Williams, is not only an Associate Professor at the University of Iowa, but she was also the graphic artist for our new exhibit, Guts & Glory: The War Train that Shaped a Nation. With Rachel as your guide, learn how to write flash fiction and how to draw its accompanying art.

Students will be given a special tour of the archives from the Library Director and will be shown the Guts & Glory exhibit by Rachel. After the workshop, the students’ work will be publicly displayed in the Skala Bartizal Library allowing visitors to read and see their spectacular creations.
