Houby Days in Czech Village

Visit Czech Village on May 19 and May 20 for the Czech Village Association’s annual Houby Days festival!

Saturday, May 19

St. Paul South Bagpipe Ensemble
12:30pm – 1:30pm
Location: Kosek Bandstand in Czech Village

New to Houby Days for 2018, the St. Paul South Bohemian Bagpipe Ensemble is a dudy band comprised of four members playing and singing traditional instruments and songs. Watch them perform and learn about their traditional instruments and their place in Czech culture.

St. Paul Czech and Slovak Folk Dancers
11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m., and 2:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
Location: Kosek Bandstand in Czech Village

Delight in the St. Paul Czech and Slovak Folk Dancers performance displaying Czech, Moravian, and Slovak culture through dance, music, and costume.

May Pole Dance
2:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Location: Kosek Bandstand in Czech Village

Everyone is welcome to participate in dancing around the May Pole!

Eulenspiegel Puppets presents Uncle Rabbit’s Adventures
2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Location: Kosek Bandstand in Czech Village

Uncle Rabbit’s Adventures tells the bilingual story of a wealthy land-owning goat who doesnʼt want to share with his neighbors. Watch Tio Conejo and his wife, Rosita, tend to their chores, plant, harvest, and trick Señor Cabra (Mr. Goat) into sharing his agricultural wealth.

The NCSML will have special hours and admission rates during Houby Days weekend!
$5 museum entry for adults, free for students and children.
Extended hours Friday, May 19 from 5:00 until 8:00pm
Saturday, May 20 from 9:30-4:00pm
Sunday, May 21 from noon-4:00pm
