 CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – On March 22, 2016, Robert Turecek, from the Garnett Place Retirement Community visited the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library (NCSML). This visit was part of Garnett Place’s program “Dare to Dream” which focuses on helping their residents achieve their dreams. Turecek’s dream was to visit the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.

Kari Santos, the Life Enrichment Coordinator at Garnett Place coordinated Turecek’s visit and reported that Turecek chose the museum because he is proud of his Czech heritage.

Turecek received a surprise greeting from Miss Czech-Slovak Iowa, Ashley Pudil, upon his arrival at 1pm. NCSML staff members also gave Turecek a VIP introduction before he tours the museum’s exhibits.
