Operation Elevation in Progress

    (Cedar Rapids, IA)  During the next five days the flood damaged National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library will be lifted 12 feet in preparation for the slide onto the new parking garage/foundation. Crews will work steadily throughout the week, however lightning or severe weather could delay progress. Hydraulic jacks and 8,000 pieces of cribbing in various sizes will be utilized in the lift.
