Lace-making Demonstration

Tuesday, July 17, 2012 - Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Lace-making is an ancient craft. True lace was not made until the late 15th and early 16th centuries. A true lace is created when a thread is looped, twisted or braided to other threads independently from a backing fabric.

Come and watch lace makers at their craft every month at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.  On the third Tuesdays of each month, the Doris Southard Lace Guild will demonstrate the art and craft of bobbin lace in the Museum Store, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

All Czech Heritage programs presented by the NCSML are sponsored by United Fire & Casualty Company, with special thanks to CEO and President, Randy Ramlo, for his support.
