Support the Annual Fund
The Annual Fund provides a pool of unrestricted funds for the NCSML to use when and where it is most needed. Without the flexibility the Annual Fund provides, the NCSML simply would not be able to do its work.
Your gift will ensure that we continue to:
• Tell the story of the Czech and Slovak immigrants who came to this country to improve and protect their way of life. Our current exhibition, Rising Above: The Story of a People and the Flood, immerses visitors in the immigrant history of Cedar Rapids and the Flood of 2008. It is visited by hundreds of school children every year.
• Preserve artifacts and library materials. There are over 10,000 artifacts and 30,000 library items in our collection. Some of these are still in the process of conservation since the flood of 2008. At the same time, we are accessioning new items, and working to inventory and care for our entire collection. This work done “behind-the-scenes” ensures that precious artifacts are maintained for future generations to enjoy, and that we are able to curate world-class exhibitions.
• Celebrate art and culture. With over 150 programs per year, the NCSML provides exciting ways to celebrate the music, art, crafts and dance that makes Czech and Slovak culture so vibrant.
